THE AMALGAM

CASACOR Miami, the most complete architecture, interior and landscaping design exhibition in North America, featured an international mix of 20 established and emerging interior designers, all inspired by sustainability.

“The Amalgam” designed by Tamara Feldman is a modern and contemporary room portraying architectural details and a blend of interwoven bespoke elements that evoke the senses. Noble materials such as wood and marble are a reminisce for Tamara’s love of Mexican culture.

The main flanking walls are designed in white oak millwork in a repetition of vertical lines contrasting with nero marquina and emerald green marble. On the opposite wall we appreciate a built-in unit in white oak with mirror backing framed in marble details. A circular mirror, fireplace and fine accessories perfectly complement it.

The focal artwork is by renowned artist Robert Thiele adding a sense of mystery with two portraits of women. One of the most interesting details is the “area rug “created with tile floor designed by Elizabeth Sutton for Tile Bar. It is a play of pattern, color, contrast, depth in white, black and jade green. Three pendant light cylinders hang from the ceiling which are the latest in inventive lighting fixtures envisioned by Konstantin Grcic for Flos . The choice of furnishings is Minotti for their elegant, organic and fluid forms. The overall color palette is a contrast of white, natural oak , black onix, emerald and jade green with a slight pop of rust orange.
