L’Appartamento by Artemest
For Milano Design Week 2024 Artemest presents the second edition of L’Appartamento. The showhouse is a celebration of the beauty and uniqueness of Italian craftsmanship and design in a new stunning location, Residenza Vignale, a distinctive Milanese mansion built in the early 1900s and located in the 5Vie district.
The bedroom of L’Appartamento was curated by Tamara Feldman Design. The designer crafted a layered interior that nods to her Mexican heritage while capturing a sense of place. From the onset, the designer felt a connection with the saturated palette of the room, which transported her back to a hacienda in Mexico due to the terracotta and wood details.
Tamara Feldman’s mission was to create an atmosphere that nods to nature with botanicals, wood, and natural stones, all the while celebrating the best of Italian design coupled with a hearty dose of Mexican flair. This led to her extravagant choice of furniture and decor pieces by a selection of exceptional Italian artisans and artists, with the intention of bringing the outdoors indoors by incorporating the colors of the foliage seen through the large window: yellows, greens, and gold tones, all of which play beautifully against the terracotta walls. The greatest example of this concept is the bed by Giopagani that Feldman chose, which is upholstered in a fabric illustrating a dense forest canopy.
